Depending on the
premises, and on the required surveillance, Cameras of
different characteristics could be installed : black and
white or color, fixed on a wall or at the ceiling, or with
pan and tilt mechanism to direct the Camera to the required
direction, with either a fixed lens, or a zoom lens with the
focus and iris controls. For Night Surveillance, low light
level Cameras ought to be used. |

| Low light level cameras are used, coupled to
infrared projectors that illuminate the scenery with
infrared rays : the Camera would better cover the scenery,
while the human eye would not see any difference. External
Cameras would be fitted with special housings with heating
elements and wiper/washer facilities. |
| Dome
Cameras |

| Dome Cameras are used to
inhibit knowing to which direction the Camera is directed.
Dome Cameras could be for internal as well as for external
use. Externally used Dome Cameras could be fitted with
heating elements, to stop eventual internal condensation
with changing weather conditions. |
| Monitoring
Stations |

| The Monitoring Station would
allow supervising the system : it could be made of a single
Monitor, or of several Monitors with Multiplexers, which
allow views from several Cameras, to be distributed to
several Monitors at different locations within the premises.
Computer based video recording allow keeping a history of
the scenery for future references. |
